George B. Leipham, born on 9 June 1844 at Russell Hill, Wyoming Co, PA was the son of Peter Leipham ((1791-1868) and his wife, Catherine Berger Leipham. His parents were born in Pirmasens, in Bavarian Rhine Palatinate. George B. Leipham was their eleventh child - but shown as the eighth line in the Leipham Genealogy. George B. Leipham went to Michigan in his early manhood, and was a pioneer lumberman and expert sawyer. He shortened his name to LIPAN and his descendants continue to write it Lipan. George B. Lipan died April 3, 1927. His wife was Margaret McLinden, born in Canada, Jan. 11, 1852. They were married Jan. 10, 1870 in Saginaw, Michigan.
