I'm new to tracing my family, but I would like to share the little information I have. My dad was born in Beloit Wisconsin. I attended a sesquicentennial celibration in Beloit back in the late 50's. A publication (which I have since lost) said the first perminent settler was Linderman who built a cabin near the Illinois line in the early 1800's (I think 1806)

Stories I heard as a child had the family migrating to Kansas in the last half of the 19th century. Some stayed in Kansas but my greatgrandparients returned to Beloit Wisconsin after a few years.
