My wife (Barbara) and I have resided in Lincoln, NE for 41-years (in August, 2012) now. I retired about 2-years ago after 39-1/2 years with a regional organization which served a 15 county region providing grant writing, grant administration, planning, housing/business lending programs to approximately 170 municipalities.
Barb and I have four daughters, 2 of which reside in the Des Moines, IA area, 1 in Maryland and 1 here in Lincoln. We have a total of 11 grandchildren plus 1 longer term foster child who may, one day, become a permanent family member.
Two of our daughters pooled their funds this past Christmas and gave me an 1-year subscription to Ancestery.com. Since January 1, 2012, I have probably averaged about 4-1/2 hours a day in research and managed to "make connections" with about 4,000 ancestors the earliest of which lived in 500 A.D. Needless to say, I have thoroughly enjoyed the experience however, with warmer weather, my time devoted to FTM will likely be increasingly limited.
Well, must sign off for now and get busy on a project I'm working on with a son-in-law.
By the way, do you maitain contact to Phyllis? If so, how is she getting along. Haven't seen her for a couple of years now.
Well, take care and let's keep this up. Maybe there is some info. we can share.
