Joseph Limano, 80, of Apache Junction, Ariz., passed away on Wednesday, April 21, 2010.
Joe was born June 28, 1929, a son of the late John and Virginia Limano. He was preceded in death by a sister, Grace Higby. He was a U.S. Army veteran who served during the Korean conflict. Joe was a self-employed businessman in Meadville and western Pennsylvania. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved the outdoors. Joe was the youngest of six children. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Debbie; brothers, Pete, Mike (Charlene); and sisters, Ethel (Joe) Basile and Betty Saputo, all of Meadville. In addition he is survived by daughter, Debra (Tony) Monico, of Oswego, Ill.; son, Joseph (Jackie), of Erie, David (Stacy), of Meadville; step-son, David Crossman (Shannua), of Roaming Shores, Ohio; five grandchildren, Marc Limano, Leah (Jared) Krempels, Nathan Monico, Nicholas Limano, Gabrielle Limano; and three step-grandchildren, Courtney Footskulak, Anthony Sheldt, and Kyra Crossman. Calling hours are Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Bailey Funeral Home, 4396 Iroquois Ave, Erie. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Casimir's Catholic Church, Erie at 10 a.m. Monday. Interment will take place at Laurel Hill Cemetery, Erie.
