Tim, (and Deb) It seems things may have moved on somewhat since my enquiy.
My initial linking of Jas Lillycrap (a Soldier) was through a marriage located in another source however this now seems to have been to a different Emma Duck, there were quite a number of seemingly unrelated Ducks in Somerset at the time.
My Emma and her sister Elizabeth were born on 12th May 1825 at Radford, Nottinghamshire and baptised on 3rd July.
With the aid of your research I think we have tied up the family.
I also haven't been able to locate Elizabeth Lillycrap nee Duck but given that her father's younger brother, Thomas Duck, and his large family had disbersed throughout the Hunter and New England Districts of NSW, they were assisted "Agincourt" immigrants that arrived at Port Jackson NSW in 1848, perhaps a search of NSW marriage and death records may bring something together.
I think the number of her children may have made travel back to England somewhat cost prohibitive.
Mind at 37 in Castlereigh at the time of her husbands demise a following relationship could easily have occurred there with or without official records. Mind it is also possible that other family menbers, brothers of Elizabeth migrated to this country and she found refuge there, I have not found them yet.
You will both notice that in relation to James Samual Duck and family the ages changed with each census as did the recording of the birth place and in the case of the good reverend, his name and age, he was born on 6th October 1807 at Radford, Notts and christened at the Castlegate Independent Meeting House Notts on 25th November in the same year.
He and his younger brother, my Ancestor, Thomas, were the youngest of a family of eight, with five older sisters.
If I have this Lillycrap line correct, the parents of Robert and Henry were Israel b. c1781 and Elizabeth b. c1891 and sisters, Anna b. c1819 & Jane c1825. Do you know who Elizabeth was? Their marriage would have been before 1818.
Regards
Jeff
