I am confused as to the true parentage of Capt. John. Some sources show his parents as having been Thomas Lightfoot & Honor Pierce. Others indicate that Phillip Lightfoot Jr & Mary Amistead are his parents. I have found in Family Data Collection-Births the record of a John Lightfoot b 1725 to Phillip & Mary. Does anyone have info to prove either way? With "John" being such a common name (even among the Lightfoots) it's difficult to be certain. Also, I would love to see actual documents proving the names of his wives & children. They vary drastically on various Family Trees. Any thoughts? Thanks, Judy
