Keep in mind that the Liford's (at least my line of Liford's) migrated from Claiborne County, Tennessee to Southern Indiana (Owen Monroe Counties) and then to Indianapolis. One of John Liford's sons (William Prior Liford 1830-1904)who, by-the-way, according to his death certificate, was born in Virginia, married a Sara Elizabeth Pugh (1835 - 1911) and they both died in Monroe County, Indiana. Their childrens names were: Grace Bell (Liford) Hazelwood, James R. Liford, Albert M. Liford, David Brownlow Liford, Dessie May (Liford) Ground, John W. Liford, and finally, Isabell Liford. John Liford's son...William Prior Liford...served in the Civil War with Company "G" 1st Regiment Tennessee Volunteers (Cavalry) (Union), Commanded by a Robert Johnson. He was taken prisoner Aug. 10-17-1862 at Cumberland Gap. Exchanged on 31 October 1862.
That it. Thought I'd put in my 2 cents worth.
Steven L. Turner, grandson of Fern May Liford (1894 - 1944)
