I found this interesting snippet on the internet. From what I can gather this Liffen is connected to the south London Liffen's, c1820+ (but they are sometimes called Loffen in Sussex). Any ideas on who this John is and whether he's a Norfolk Liffen/Liffin?

They were married, while John Liffin was a prisoner in France, in the presence of Thomas Weymouth, servant, also a prisoner of war, and his wife Mary, who is since gone to England, by Dr Greaves at Valenciennes on 24 March 1804; sworn at Valenciennes before John Douce Garthwaite, a member of the Commission of the Peace for Surrey.
