James O. “Jim” Liebe, 77, of Columbus, Ohio, formerly of Chillicothe, Ohio, died unexpectedly 10 p.m. Saturday, November 24, 2007 in Columbus.

Jim was born December 20, 1929, in Ross County, Ohio, to the late James E and Lavina Nunley Liebe.

He was widowed by his first wife, Virginia Liebe and his second wife, Paula Liebe.

Surviving are daughters, Sharon Liebe, of Maine and Karen Liebe, of Ohio; stepsons, Larry Yahraus and Ronnie Yahraus, both of Chillicothe; grandchildren, Stephanie Rapp and Geneva Heiss; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a granddaughter, Brittany Rose; stepson, Thomas Yahraus; brothers, John, Donald and Vernon Liebe; and sisters, Leora Gallaugher and Helen Brown.

Jim served in the U.S. Army, in Korea, during the Korean War.
He worked at the Chillicothe V.A. Medical Center for 30 years retiring in 1985.

He enjoyed wildlife and feeding the birds and chipmunks that came around and visited with him.

Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Thursday, November 29, 2007 in the Ware Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Norman officiating.
Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery where military graveside rites will be conducted by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard.
Friends may call at Ware’s from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
