I have followed a Demetrio Leyba who married into my lineage. He spent most of his life in the Rio Puerco Valley in a hamlet named Casa Salazar just below Cabezon (La Posta). His country of birth is listed in the 1900 US Federal Census as MEXICO. In the subsequent, 1910 census his birthplace is noted as Sonora, MEXICO. Familial connections to Pena Blanca is not beyond imagination as a heavily used wagon road ran from Santa Fe to Ft. Wingate through these towns. His parentage is recorded as Seldonio and Teresita Leyba. I hope this helps.
