Gladys Marie Lex, nee Gemskie, formerly Gladys Meehan and Gladys Augustin, age 85, longtime resident of Highland Park and Deerfield, beloved wife of Vernon;
cherished mother of Carole (Raymond) McCarty, Kathleen (Robert) Waterloo, Pamela (Thomas) Nadolny, Barbara (Ernest) Castelli, James (Gale) Meehan Jr., Patricia (Erwin) Post and Michael (Mary) Meehan; special grandmother of 21; great-grandmother of 22.
Gladys was married to James Meehan, the father of her seven children, for 27 years, then to her beloved Roy Augustin for 20 years. She was preceded in death by her parents George and Katherine Gemskie, nee Balmes; stepfather, John Molitor; her brothers, George and Art Gemskie; and sister, Marie Brei.
She is also survived by her brother, James (Dolly) Molitor. As our Dear mother passed from this world to the next, she was surrounded by her loving children. She was at peace and surrounded by love.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 15, 2004 from 3 to 8 p.m. at Kelley and Spalding Funeral Home, 1787 Deerfield Rd., Highland Park, IL.
A Mass will be held on Tuesday, March 16, 2004 at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, 770 Deerfield Rd., Highland Park, IL. Interment at Memorial Park Cemetery, Skokie, IL.
