I have, especially the last several years, known the Mary Jane Lewallen (I believe married a Jackson) has gotten crossed with our Lewallen family. Our Mary Jane was at least 1/2 Cherokee or Creek and her mother was Hannah Ford or Motley. Can anyone supply supporting evidence about the Native American blood. I know Mary Jane Lewallen married Wiett Bilyeu in Taney County, Missouri and had my great-granddmother had two daughters with Wiett Bilyeu before she died; Sarah Emiline and Polly. I also know at least one of Hannah's children was born in Arkansas about the time so many of the Five Civilized Tribes were sent to Arkansas and granted a land allotment. I cannot locate names on the allotments. I would appreciate any help or information available. Although Ms. Ramsey has been very helpful I don't believe our Lewallens are connected with their family.
