FORT FAIRFIELD Maine - Dawn M. Levesque, 78, wife of the late Austin J. Levesque, passed away peacefully Wednesday evening, Jan. 20, 2010, at a Caribou health care facility, after an extended illness. She was born July 31, 1931, in Fort Fairfield, the daughter of Frank H. and Alta (Harriman) Murphy. She was a graduate of Fort Fairfield High School, Class of 1949 and married Austin J. Levesque, Oct. 29, 1949. Dawn had been employed at the former A & P Processing Plant and later the former Interstate Food Processing Plant, Fort Fairfield, for more than 33 years. She was a lifelong devoted communicant of Parish of the Precious Blood, St. Denis Catholic Church, Fort Fairfield; and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Paul Lockhart Post No. 6187 Ladies Auxiliary, Fort Fairfield; and Daughters of Isabella, Santa Maria Circle No. 427, Fort Fairfield. Dawn loved to quilt and enjoyed being active in her church. Her family was her world. In addition to her parents, Dawn was predeceased by her husband, Austin, Sept. 14, 1993; three brothers, Rodney and Frank A. Murphy, and Irving Patten; and one sister, Thelma Drost. She is survived by four sons, Michael A. Levesque and his wife, Denise, of Luling, Texas, Frank David Levesque and his wife, Susan, of Weatherford, Texas, Lenny Levesque of New Haven, Conn., and John Levesque of Fort Fairfield; two daughters, Connie Nisonger and her husband, Eugene, of Dayton, Ohio, and Judy A. DeMerchant and her husband, James, of Fort Fairfield; two brothers, Darrell Murphy and his wife, Janie, and Ronald Murphy and his wife, May, all of California; one sister, Arlene Hunt of Rutland, Mass.; 11 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 24, at Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main St., Fort Fairfield, where a vigil service will be conducted 7:30 p.m. by the Rev. Jean-Paul Labrie. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 25, at Parish of the Precious Blood, St. Denis Catholic Church, 147 Main St., Fort Fairfield, with the Rev. Jean-Paul Labrie, celebrant. Spring interment will take place at St. Denis Catholic Cemetery, Fort Fairfield. A time of continued fellowship with refreshments will be held at VFW Paul Lockhart Post No. 6187 hosted by both the Ladies Auxiliary and Daughters of Isabella, Santa Maria Circle No. 427.
