Hi Fred,

I am researching the Christner, mainly the descendants of Benjamin Christner of Weston, Ontario (my husband is descended from his daughter Helen Devins) and I can't seem to find Nancy Lever. As I said earlier, she is mentionned by name in the probated will of her father where she is left only 1 pound 5 shilling. The will is dated November 15, 1853 but Benjamin died in Feb 28 or March 1 1854.
Most of her siblings are buried in Weston in the Anglican cemetery, but I have not been able to find her there, but since the Lever were strongly Methodist, I figured that she might be buried with them in their cemetery.

Do you know in which cemetery James and Mary Lever are buried in York? I was trying to locate their obit to find this information.

Also you mention that Roger and Rebecca were married in December 1853, do you know where and who the minister was?

It looks like their marriage was not recognized for some reason since (which was not unusual in Ontario for non-Anglican marriage) they married again in Artemesia in 1880:

003142-80 (Grey Co.) Roger LEVER, 60, widower, farmer, United States, s/o James and Mary LEVER, married Rebecca HOLLEY, 48, Canada, Artemesia, d/o Adam and Sarah HOLLEY, witn; J. W. ARMSTRONG and R. E. SMYTH both of Flesherton, 15 March 1880 at Flesherton.

I did not find any surviving children of Roger and Nancy, but I figure that if I find her, I might find some babies with her. On the 1851 census, Roger and Ann Lever have Hana Hervey [Hannah Harvey], her niece, living with them, and I wonder if the niece is living with them in expectation of childbirth.

Good luck on your Lever research, it seems to have been a very common name in Bolton-le-Moor.
