CHESTNUT HILL, MASS. – Edward R. Lev, 86, passed away on Oct. 5, 2013.

He was born July 15, 1927, in Youngstown, Ohio. (Mahoning County)

Mr. Lev was a Marine Corps veteran, enlisting at the age of 16 in the hopes of serving during World War II. He eventually saw combat in Korea.
His career included time as a Drill Instructor at Parris Island before becoming an officer.

He resigned his commission to attend law school. His practice of law spanned 40 years, most of it as a partner in the Law Firm of Sullivan and Worcester, specializing in Labor Law and Litigation. Conspicuous among his many accomplishments was the American Bar Association annual prize for the best essay on a legal subject. He also taught Collective Bargaining at Boston College Law School.

Above all, he was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Glendon; his daughters, Elizabeth Lev, Sarah Hood and Katherine Lev; his grandchildren, Claire and Giulia Giangravè, Joshua Glendon, William, Matthew, and Caroline Hood; and his brother, Irving Lev.

Funeral services will be held at the Lehman Reen & McNamara Funeral Home, 63 Chestnut Hill Ave. in Brighton, Mass., on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at 10 a.m.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.

Visiting hours are today from 4 to 8 p.m.

Interment will be at Newton Cemetery in Newton, Mass.

The funeral home is handicapped accessible.
