1925 Iowa state census for Edward Sello/Ives, shows both is parents names as well as Minnie's. Edward & Minnie's children are listed with parents Edward Sello/Ives and Minnie Coreltor/Conrod (Coonrad/Conrad is correct). Do you have anything on a Francis Letts b. 1910 who married Curtis Joe Ives about 1924 in Iowa. I can't find either curtis or Francis on any 1925 census, yet both state they were born in Iowa 1907/1910. 7 Sep 1945 newpaper article stated "Francis Ives (of Rundee, Iowa) visited her mother, Mrs Frank Letts in St Francis Hospital, along with her sister Mrs Y B May of Milwaukee Wisconsin). Any idea who Mrs Y B (Letts) May could be. Help greatly appriciated. Contact me off-board at suesisco@yahoo.com. Oh, yeah, family was from Black Hawk Co and Deleware Co., Iowa. Thank you,

Thanks, but my line of Letts has no known USA connections. If we could find records of George and Thomas Letts each born ca. 1815 in Northamptonshire, we might find a connection to the ones who went to the USA.

Hello,
My Grandmother was a Letts and I'm looking information on her ancestry. I've gotten as far as John A. Letts born circa 1810 in New York (Tompkins County I think). I've hit a road block with him and have not been able to find out anything on his parents; any help would be appreciated.

Thanks JoAnn

I am Sherman Barry Lett of Ottawa, Ontario. (Name changed from Letts in 1916.)

I believe Robert John was son of James son of Thomas and Elizabeth Thompson. I believe Katherine Melina was d. of Thomas son of George and Anne Turnbull (b. Scotland). It is popular guess that Thomas and George were brothers b. ca. 1815 and 1816 in Northamptonshire who emigrated to Calumet Island, Canada in 1820.

Would be very greatful to confirm Thomas and George derivation.

Robert John Letts was the son of James Letts (1855-1944) and Ruth French (1850-1921). James Letts was the son of Thomas White Letts (1815-1901) and Elizabeth Thompson (1819-1894). Thomas White Letts was the son of Thomas Letts (1790 England - before 1870 Calumet Island, Pontiac, Que). Thomas Letts had another son George (1818-1881)who married Ann Turnbull. Katherine Melina Letts was the daughter of Thomas Letts (1840 - 1896) and Cecilia Bannaugh. Thomas Letts was the son of George Letts and Ann Turnbull. Confusing, but I hope that helps.

My interest in Francis Walter (aka Walker) William James Farringdon (Frank) Letts was when he was named as father of Patricia Martha Faringdon Letts who married Conrad Harvey Sayce, writer (former architect) in 1925 in a Victorian marriage certificate which I have. CH Sayce was previously married in 1922 to Alice Mary Maxwell-Hyslop, headmistress who died in 1923.The intriguing note in
The Argus (Melbourne, Vic. : 1848-1954) Saturday 14 February 1925 .
SAYCE-LETTS. - On the 29th January 1925, by Rev. N. Claridge Goss, Conrad Harvey, second son of Rev. and Mrs. W. Sayce, of England to Patricia Martha Farringdon Letts, of New Zealand, granddaughter of the late Lord Farringdon.
[This latter point seems a good 'story' but as the Farringdon [aka Farrenden] seems to come from his wife's Sophia Anne (Sophie Ann) Skinner daughter of Thomas Farendo Skinner's ,side , I would like to see the evidence... see Ancestry notes & NZ BMD Indexes
http://trees.ancestry.co.uk/pt/event.aspx?tid=1586494&pi...
Jean,
I am not sure which "Descendants of Moses Letts" your have. Is this something I sent you previously? Here is what I have: William H. Letts married Josephine Conklin. Hubert Letts says 1856. IGI Says 5-8-1856. My personal notes say possibly 1852. This is a date that will likely get researched and I can try for a document in the next batch that I request if it helps you. What date do you have or feel is accurate? Or is it the marriage date that is being questioned? I haven't put together a document list beyond NJ Archives (1878) but NJA did recommend 1879.
Let me know which date to research.
Jane
