Not sure if anyone is still working on this line....but Absalom Lepley was my 2nd great grandfather (through Absalom's son John ...John's daughter Anna Laura...and Anna's daughter Dorothy). Not sure about his early history in OH, but Absalom wound up in central MI and is interred at New Haven Township Cemetery in Gratiot County. Looks like he moved between 1860 and 1870 according to census records. The only connection I can find to his family in Ohio is the aforementioned reference in Solomon Lepley's will. I did find a Civil War Draft registration from Richmond, OH that lists Absalom's place of birth as PA. So...it makes sense that he would be the son of Susannah Critchfield and Jacob. Still - I would like to find an additional source or two...
