The LEONARD's (LENHARDT in German) are believed to come from the Alsace-Lorraine region of France/Germany. My fourth great grandfather is believed to be Jonas LEONARD born abt. 1774. He married Julia GOULD, born abt. 1773, in Fonda, NY, in the Dutch Reformed Church in 1803. A son William was born 1805, Amsterdam, New York and later moved to Big Pond, PA where he and wife Phoebe CLINTON lived and died. He is buried Big Pond cemetery and she in the Doty Hill cemetery as she married Joseph DOTY after Williams death in 1854. I am able to find most of the descendents of this family but have been unable to locate ancestors. Any information would be helpful and appreciated.
