PLATTSBURGH — Frances M. Lenaghen, 92, of Plattsburgh, died Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2001, at the Meadowbrook Healthcare Facility.

She was born in Keene on Oct. 25, 1908, the daughter of Franklin and Elnora (Heald) Cram.

Mrs. Lenaghen is known in the Plattsburgh area as a lover of animals. She was a well known groomer of dogs and operated a kennel and grooming service for over 50 years.

Survivors include one niece, Lucille Caperino of San Antonio, Texas; four nephews, Kenneth Cram of St. Louis, Mo., Howard Wilcox of Wellesley Hills, Mass., Don Bennett of Center Conway, N.H., and Marvin Otis of Jay, N.Y.; and many great nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Carlton H. Lenaghen in 1990; one brother, Sidney Cram in 1981 and seven sisters, Lucy Bennett, Katherine Farley, Ruth Wilcox, Beatrice Otis, Ethel Cram, Daisy Graves and Evelyn Osier.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Norton Cemetery in Keene.

Memorial donations may be made to your local Humane Society or a charity of your choice.

Arrangements by the R. W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh.
