Henry Lehay b Oct 1867 in Quebec - married Victoria Rivet b 1874 Canada, who had immigrated to Holyoke, MA by 1880 with her parents (so, probably a US marriage). Their daughter - Corinne Lehay b abt 1899 (probably in Enfield, CT) - d before 1955 (probably in Manhattan, NYC) - was my paternal grandmother.
Henry worked in the powder mills in Enfield, CT - recorded in the US Census of 1900, 1910 (by which time he was a widower w/4 children), and 1920 - remarried to Clara Toutant Bennett and living in East Windsor (still within the Enfield area), CT. Henry Lehay died about 1924 or so, as Clara was listed as his widow in the next city directory.
I've only found US Census records on Henry - no border crossings, marriages, birth records for their children, and no death records for either Henry or Victoria (probably in Enfield, CT).
There is a family in the Canada Census of 1881 ... Mathias Lahay & Emelia Jette, their son Henry Lahay & his wife Mary (?), young Henry Lahay and siblings - living in Brompton Gore, Sherbrooke. I'd thought this family was a good match - but saw that the family of ANOTHER Henry Lahay - who settled in the Mid-West USA and married a different woman - has claimed them. Oops.
This has been my only lead so far.
I appreciate any help you can give - whether concrete or mere suggestions.
