I am looking for any information on Rebecca Lee Nicols. I am trying to verify that indeed per the family legend, the Lee in her name comes from the famous Lee Family from which it is conjectured she descends, seemingly perhaps the Lees which were in Dorchester, Caroline Counties in the 18th Century. These would be of the Maryland Lee branch of the famous family, notably associated with Rehoboth Plantation there in Dorchester County, and nearby other properties (they owned about 2 sq miles of land there, and some more over in Somerset as I recall). Conjecture is she is of the line of Philip Lee of Maryland Branch, who had like 15 children, including Francis Lee who lived (and was county clerk) in Dorchester County (Later Cecil County, MD), his brothers Corbin, John, George, and nephew Philip (son of Philip Jr) all owned part of the Lee land there. The family was in the Ironworks business, with as Nottingham Ironworks throughout Maryland, and traveled between Maryland and London where their bankers resided (notably the Russells, and other Scottish bankers residing in London).

There is a Letitia Lee of Harford County MD, who is involved with the real estate xfer to John Smoot, she is also likely of this line, as the Ironworks were up in that area, under Corbin Lee (son of Philip Sr. above) of this line who died abt. 1772/73. Any info on her appreciated.

There is a Mary and Letitia Nicols living next to Capt. Joseph Douglas and Rebecca Lee Nicols in Caroline County Census data, any info on them appreciated. Likewise a Letty Nicols living at same time in Somerset (Broadcreek Hundred), same age bracket as Letitia Nicols in Caroline is this the same person (at the other Lee landed estate in Somerset County)?

The is also Lancelot Richard Thomas Lee in London at this time of this line working with James Russell, any info appreciated.

Any info on children of Francis Lee (d. 1749 Cecil County) above, such as Francis Leonard Lee, Amelia Lee who married John Anderton, Leonard Lee, Thomas Lee, Mary Lee who married a Waringe.

Any proof appreciated.
