Hi Jakob:
It's your Aunt Elizabeth LaBar. The name is Labar not lebar. Your Grandfather Nathan asked you father to change his name to Lebar to sound more Jewish. LaBar is not a jewish name. It come from the Alsce-Lorraine in France/Germany. The territory is French at the moment. According to your great-grandmother- Elizabeth Maddie Labar's obit in the local paper in Missouri, she was a baptist. I just found that out when I ran across the clipping in some old papers.
I do not know when the Labars came across the Atlantic to the US. Your Great grand-father John Labar was born in 1877. Imagine that? 125 years ago. The car and the phone hadn't yet been invented. Life is amazing.
I just sent an e-mail to your brother, Josh. It seems that you are both doing very well. I'm proud of you both.
I'm sorry to hear about the divorce of your parents. It's all a part of life. I hope that they are both well and healing from the experience.
Peace and happy holidaze to you. I am well and happy with a very wonderful boyfriend. Maybe someday we'll all have a happy reunion. Well, one can hope for such things.
I have a few photos. I need to coordinate them. When I do, I'll make sure that both you and Josh get copies.
Peace and love,
Auntie Elizabeth
