Eva Irene Learn, age 88, of Harborcreek,Pa,
passed away peacefully on August 28, 2012 with her caring family by her side at the Walnut Creek Golden Living Center. She was born on December 1, 1923, daughter of the late James and Ethel Space of Reidsburg, Pa. In 1945 Eva married her husband, Eugene Learn and moved to Erie to lovingly raise her family of four children. Eva loved spending time with her family, flower and vegetable gardening, traveling, cruising, camping, playing bingo and occasional trips to the local casinos. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas and James Space and two sisters, Edna Forringer and Elsie Wilson. Eva is survived by her husband of 67 years, Eugene Learn; six sisters, Sarah Ruffner of Rimersburg, Pa., Leona Survey and Geraldine Space of Reidsburg, Pa.; Mildred Byers and Alda Whitehill of Erie, and Florence Eberlin of Harborcreek; two sons, Leroy E. Learn Sr. (Margaret) of North East and David E. Learn Sr. (Eunice) of Harborcreek; two daughters, Helen M. Wood (Alan) of Millcreek and Patti L. Steele (Stephen) of Harborcreek; 14 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Dr. Masters, Dr. Baig and the staff at Walnut Creek Golden Living Center nursing home for their excellent care of their beloved one. Eva will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., East, 2607 Buffalo Road on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to attend the Funeral Service there on Friday at 10 a.m. conducted by Pastor Daniel F. Piazza, her grandson. Interment, Lakeside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Northwestern Kidney Foundation, 2501 West 12th St., Yorktown Center, Suite 632, Erie, PA 16505.
