Hi
I have discovered some Leaper ancestors. I have a 5x Greatgrandmother Ann Leaper 1755 - 1815 (married to Willaim Buer, butcher). Ann lived in Chandos Street, Covent Garden, Westminster, London, and was born in the St. Martins-in-the-Fields area, although her family came from Little Hallingbury, Essex.
Her father Abraham Leaper (b. 1722 - d. 1792)was also a butcher (although by the time of his making a Will he styled himself "Gentleman", owning a number of properties in London. Abraham although living most of his life in London, was still attached to Essex, as he was buried in Little Hallingbury, as was another daughter Hannah aged 6.
Abraham's father was John Leaper (b. abt 1685) and mother Ann (b.1687 d.25 Mar 1733). As well as Abraham, there was 4 other brothers John b.1710, James b.1711, Mathew b.1717-d.1723 and Issac b. 1724.
Abraham him self had 12 children with his wife Rachel Smith,
Abraham 1749, James 1750, Elizabeth 1752, James 1753, Ann 1755, Sarah 1756,Sarah 1757, Hannah 1759, Mary 1760, Ellin 1761, William 1762 & Mary Smith 1764 - his wife must have been pretty tired out by then!
If any one has any connection to this family I would like to hear
Regards Max
