My husband is Kenneth Edward DeLap, b. 1940 in Thief River Falls, MN son of Edward Claude DeLap, b. 1916, in Felton, MN, son of Claude Edward DeLap, b. 1882 in Lime Springs, IA, son of James William DeLap, b. 1858 in Wisconsin, son of Enoch George DeLap, b.1839 in Green Co, WI, son of Rev. Robert H DeLap, b. 1797 in Weston, NY, son of William J DeLap b. 1770 in Weston, NY, son of Robert DeLap, b. 1743 in Andover, MA, son of John DeLap b. 1719 in Vermont.

I have an interesting personal letter written in 1931 by Olive DeLap Walker, granddaughter of Rev. Robert H. DeLap. She indicates that the DeLap family originated in Greece, some migrated to France where the name was changed. She further states that Dunlap, Dunlop, Delapp, DeLapp are all corruptions of DeLap, and we are all related.

Was surprised to learn there were DeLap's in Valley City; other than Mpls, I have not run across the name in the city phone books.
