ALBERT LeBRUN Bio
Albert Lebrun, son of Florida and Eugene Lebrun, graduated fra LHS in 1929, attended Valley City STC and later taught at the home school in Perry Township. Albert and Esther were married 1933 and farmed in the Clyde and Langdon vicinities for a few years. Esther graduated fra Nekoma in 1931.
Albert and Lee Ellis of Scobey Montana bought the Gamble store in August 1937 fra Harry South of Minneapolis, who worked for the company and established the store in 1933 under the management of Norm Njoa. The store was then located on the east side of the street, about a block south of its present location. In October of that year Albert and his uncle, Ed Lebrun bought a building fra Anton Benson and the Gamble store business went on smoothly until it was interrupted by a fire in the building in November. After extensive repair they were back in business.
Albert became sole owner in 1938 May, when Lee Ellis sold to him and moved to Velva, ND. Albert died 23 June 1941. Esther married Hector Gendreau 1 September 1954.--recorded 6/85
