I thought the ed and emma sounded familiar but us siblings always thought my dad was a junior (II) since my brother was james (III), They all stayed in Mississippi, my father retired from the Army in Oklahoma where we were raised and where he past, all of his relatives are in MS. The Ed you mentioned, I think the name was Edward James Layton, spouse Emma Morton or Norton I believe, the Aunt Bonnies age sounds right and the Age is exact for my father even though Social Security has him being born in 1932 which is wrong, he lied about his age to join the military.
