Recent DNA testing has indicated that my paternal great-great-grandfather, Jasper Newton Acree, may have actually been fathered by a Lawson or Jenkins. Jasper Newton Acree was born in Bradley County TN in 1839 and was orphaned at an early age. According to family history his father died before he was born, but it was also assumed that his father was an Acree, and DNA testing seems to dispute that.

I would love to hear from anyone who knows of a Lawson or Jenkins, or perhaps knows of a case where these two families were intertwined, from the 1830s in the vicinity of Bradley County TN. You may be able to help solve a family mystery for the scores of descendants of Jasper Newton Acree.

P.S.- This subject is doubly interesting to me, because my wife is a 5th great-grandchild of William the Rebel Lawson on her maternal side. I find it intriguing that we could possibly be distantly related on the Lawson side, and would love to get to the bottom of this.
