My great uncle on my mother's side was Aubrey Francis Lawson, MD. His sister was Bertie (Lawson) Pomeroy, who was my mother's mother. They were from Lewis County, WV.

Lawson, Aubrey Francis, physician and surgeon, born Berlin, WV, Mar. 5, 1887, son of Albert Francis Lawson and Elisabeth (Swisher) Lawson. MD, University of Maryland Medical School, 1911. Married Lotta Vandervort, Feb. 3, 1917. Children: Nancy Elisabeth (Cole) and John Francis Lawson. Began as company surgeon, Wildell Lumber Co., Wildell, WV, 1913 - 1914, Davis Colliery Co., Bower and Coalton, WV, 1914 - 1916. Assistant to Dr. A. C. Harrison, Mercy Hospital, MD, 1916 - 1917. Medical examiner B O RR, Connellsville, PA, 1917 - 1918. Associated with Dr. T. F. Law and founded General Hospital of Weston, WV, 1920; individual owner since 1928. Built up the clinic to a 44-bed hospital with a training school for nurses in connection. Director, Citizens Bank, Weston, WV, since 1939. Note: Following Uncle Aubrey's death The General Hospital was sold to Dr. Trefz. The General Hospital is now an apartment building on one of the main streets in Weston. The sign in the stone work across the front entrance reads "The General".
