I didn't see anything in the posts about Roy F. Law and his family from Ga. Roy Franklin Law was my grandfather- born in Georgia April 1900 died 1982. His wife, Mamie H. Law, born 12-25-1904, died Oct.1994. Their children were Dempsey Law, last known address in Atlanta, Ga; Jimmy Law, also Atl. Ga.; Terrell Ray Law and twin sister Faye Law (Duren), born 17 Feb 1946. Dempsey's children: Connie & Theresa; Jimmy's children: Jimmy & Tammy; Ray's children: Terrell Raye Law II and Traci A. Law; Faye's children: Shelda & Regina..

Do you know anything about the parents of Roy F. Law? I know some of our Law family in Blount co. Tenn, moved to Georgia.

We are descendants of Abraham Law and Delila McCrosky who lived in the Smokey Mountains near Townsend, TN in the early 1800's

Yes, I will try to look for it.

I searched on this site, but I haven't really joined yet, so I couldn't get to the actual information. You might want to try that. I suppose if you are a member you would be able to see him, appearing with his parents in the 1900 Census.

I also checked at FamilySearch, (http://www.familysearch.org/eng/search/frameset_search.asp ) and found some entries which are probably him, but born in June 1900, in the Pedigree Resource file with his parents listed, and one in the Social Security Death Index.

Well, I just clicked on the links for the fathers in the lineage all the way back to Scotland. Apparently this family doesn't tie in with mine, or at least as far as we have traced ours.

I am replying to the above comment from frlaw12. I know that my ancestral grandfather, John Law, came from Aberdeen, Scotland sometime around 1700 but can't trace back any further. Could he be the ancestor you have in your family tree? MB

He could be. We haven't traced our Law line much beyond the early 1800's in Blount co., Tennessee, but we suspect Abraham Law lived in NC before that.

Where did your John Law settle when he came from Scotland? Who were his children? And what places did they live in? (etc.?)

This appears to contain some of the information on the early marriages of some of the Law folk recorded in: "Blount County, Tennessee Marriages 1795 to 1915" by Edith B. Little. I have the book and will do lookups if anyone wants me to.
