I have always heard that my ancestor, Proser Lavallee, was the brother of Calixa Lavallee, who wrote the Canadian national anthem. Are there any lavallee's out there who have a record of Calixa Lavallee's siblings? I have been unable to open the ancestry.com downloads. Thanks for your help.

I am also looking for a Lavallee line. Moise Lavallee who married Rose Taylor. They had a daughter, Julie Lavallee. I assume it was in Quebec or thereabouts. Do you have any info? I have nothing on Lavallee's except what I have just written.

As far as I know, Calixa Lavallee who wrote the music for O Canada had only one child who reached adulthood, Raoul. There may be other Calixa's in the line. Check out Genforum at the Paquette or Paquet board. There are some people with much on this line who can help. Leigh McCaffrey

According to the info. I have, my great-grandfather was François Uldéric Lavallée (m. Marie-Zélie Côté in 1887). His father was François-Xavier Lavallée (m. Olive Olivier in 1855).

Now, François-Xavier Lavallée's father was Joseph Paquet-Lavallée (m. Geneviève Thomas in 1821).

Hi, I am just getting into the Lavallee family, as my Mother is a Lavallee from Quebec. My uncle just told me about Calixa Lavallee, and that we are related. My grandmother's maiden name was Paquet.
