There is a considerable amount of information online. Unfortunately the number of times they changed their names makes if difficult to find anyone. I meantioned Venance earlier. He moved to Coopersville with the name Latour. Some time later, he went by Forget. Even later still he went by Sylvanus Fosher. His grave marked at St Joseph's Cemetery says "Vanice Forsher."

That said, if you can figure out which name your ancestor used, you can search through newspaper archives for the area.
