It's been a while since anyone posted, but yes, the family (anyway you spell it) is still out here.

Fun reading as our huge family discovers who they are, and it's only been a few of you.

Haven't heard Uncle Walters name in so many years, but I can still see the picture my dad (Joe/Sammy) had of the two of them back in the 60's standing with one hand on the hip and the other against a palm tree in Florida on my dad's vacation.

And Heidi, nice to hear you're still out here, keeping up.

My gr gr gr grandmother was a Latlip/Latulippe from Waterville and ended up in Lowell. I have found lot's of information on the Latlip's from Waterville. I have a family tree under Murphy Brown family tree on ancestry. My grx4 grandparents were Godfroid and Sophie (Mahue) Latlip. Were your Maine Latlip's from Waterville?

My Grandfather was Chester J. Latlippe, married to Louise (Rocha) Latlippe, both deceased. They lived in East Bridgewater, MA He was a foundry worker and my grandmother was a folk art painter. The owned a gift shop called the Four Seasons Gift Shoppe. They had 2 children Sally Ann King (deceased) and Vincent Kenneth Latlippe. This was my father's oldest brother Chet, He was married to Louise Both were living in Brigeton, Ma. I believe when I visted them with my Dad Year's ago! Eddie Latlippe of Auburn,Me. He was a Building Contractor.I recall his brother Did BlackSmith work in a small shop at one time.

Joseph Latlippe was married later too Ruby Bell York. They were my grandparent's from Winthrop, Me. Rita was one of his first children from a prior marriage! My father was Edward G. Latlippe Sr.

I think you are talking about my uncle Walter who was married to Kathleen. They had a large number of children born in Florida and here in Maine as they often traveled back and forth. I remember Donna, Ruby, Bud, and Steven, although there are a lot more. My Uncle Robert (last of the children alive) said one of the girls was just found last year. The last I heard Donna and Ruby were in the Alabama/North Carolina areas, Steven is in Arizona, and Bud is in California. Please feel free to email me with any questions at tammyp407@yahoo.com. I am sure you are my sister, I also was born in Miami.

You have 9 brother, and sisters. Two children was from dad's first marriage, none of us knew them. I am your big sister I live in Ohio, although I am planning to move back to Fla. in the fall. I would be more then happy to give you any information I can. Do you still have blond hair ? I have thought of you quite often. Mrs. Wallings was your Social Worker at the time. It was known that a Fire Fighter adopted you in Bartow, Fla. Mrs. Wallings told me at the time of the adoption that you picked Elizabeth for your name.
I would love to here from you, and yes there are a few of us Latlip's still out there.

Sorry it has been so long since I checked this. I checked back a few times after I wrote the first post but nobody replied. I did get a hold of my cousin that lives in PA and one in Florida. Both of whom I have never met. They are daughters of my Dad sisters. Both do not have the last name Latlip. I just read that a Kimberly Latlip died in a car accident in CA. I don't know who she is but I am sure she is related some how.

Well if anybody has any more info I would love to hear it.

My family is of this various name decent.
I am currently far removed (in San Diego) but
have been researching the name line.

My grandfather was Joseph Latulippe born in
waterville Maine 1893. He had children from 1st
marriage, Chester, Vincent, Violet 2nd marriage
Walter (Francis), Robert, Mildred, Edward, Joseph.
All are to the best of my knowledge deceased except
for my dad (Robert).
ANyone with any info on the family line please let me know!!

I have a missing piece in the life of my Gt. Grandmother which I have almost given up on. Her name was Marie Gilbert and at the age of 22 in 1872 she appears to have married Joseph Latulippe, Lanthlip or Latlip as he appears in the Bangor City Directories. Between 1871 and 1876 he appears as an Engine Cleaner for the M.C.R.R. The 1880 Bangor census lists them as a couple, then suddenly in 1883 Marie appears married to Isadore Breton who was my Gt. Grandfather. He was 32 when he married Marie which makes me think he might have been married before. Who was he, who were his parents and where did he come from? Any info. most welcome.

Was your father David Latlip, Jr. born in Charleston, Kanawha, WV to David Latlip and Marion Hoyle. Also, did this David have four older sister that were about 16+ years older. Do you know if your grandfather was born in Waterville, Maine? Were your father's sisters names, Rita, Virginia, Madeline and Rosaline? Did they do shows? Hello Fran! I don't know if you'll see this anytime soon, but I want to reply and say that I love and miss you! Did you see that dads kids have left messages here? I haven't been active on here in such a long time...too long in fact. I agree with those that feel that we 'Latlips', or any and all variations thereof, might be able to make some connections and possibly fill in the blanks for some. After visiting countless genealogy websites, I see that I might possibly have some info for someone, if you haven't yet seen these. I hope that we can get these threads started rolling again and close some gaps for all of us.
Ill try and remain as active as I can...Look, we have found our long adopted sister Betty Jo on here. My uncle Eddies' daughter Diana, who I believe I have never met, but my siblings have...I was named after my uncle Eddie...I have seen that My dads first two children, Donna and 'Sonny Boy'(is what he has always been known as in my family-whom none of us have met save my oldest sister Ruby). And I also see that The 'Flying Latlips' are related to my family through Gott Latlip (some variation on spelling). He was the brother of my great great grandfather Andrew, born in 1847, 5 years older than his brother. Andrew was perhaps too young to enlist in service in the Civil War(b. 1852), but not to be married at 13 to Marie, who was also 13!
Ill stop for now, but I do hope that we can continue to post as we all once did. -Mark

In your message to Elizabeth/Betty jo Latlip you mentioned two children from your fathers first marriage. I think they are my father Joseph and my aunt Donna. My father was born in 1952. We are now Mitchells . I began a search six years ago ,got nowhere .At that time my father wasn't sure that he wanted to know. All the information that I got was their birth fathers name was Francis Walter Latlip and he past sometime in the 90's at a nursing home in hollywood Fl, not far from where we live. My Fathers birth name is Joseph A. Latlip, his sisters name is Donna. Their father was Francis Walter Laplip. Mother was Nelwyn. They were adopted by a Mitchell. Currently looking for half siblings and information regarding Laplip family. The only information I have is he died in a nursing home in Hollywood, FL in the 90's sometime. Hello, Im Kimberly Re'han Elisa Latlip...What I think is truly amazing is that we are all inquiring about our family name LATLIP. I think it's great that those who are interesting in looking to find out more information about our ancestors, but is anyone really willing to meet and actually keep in contact with them? Im more then willing to get to know my family and the history of the latlip's. I've read a few things on the net about Latlip and the change of name. All I know is that I'm a Latlip and who's left on my side is my brother Todd. My father Frank Latlip JR; passed in August 4, 2004 of a stroke. Not only would I care to know of my family, but because I have a 2 year old son named Domink Frank Latlip. My father's sister Carmen Latlip lives close to Los Angeles while my brother and I reside in San Diego. We are the only latlip's that I have grown up to know of. My grandfahter Frank Latlip passed when I was young and I wasn't even born when my grandma was passed. It would be nice to just get to know some more latlip's..via email...

My name is Stacy Hilts. I was Born Stacy Latlip. My Fathers Name was Frank. I have never met him. He divorced my mother when I was 3 months old and Never kept in touch. Was your dad born in FL? My birthcert says that my Father was born in Florida. Do you have any relatives that live in Maine? That is where I am from. My Biological father { Frank Latip } dissapared after he divorced my mother {Linda}. I know nothing of him. I am 29 years old. I also am just starting to do reasearch on the LATLIP family for my boyfriend, and the rest of his family. Your right there are not many Latlips, but I know a few, and have some info.

Is your Andrew given as Charles on the 1860 census. Gott Latlip Sr. is my gr gr gr gr grandfather. His daughter Sophie, born 1848 is my gr gr gr grandmother. I have been researching this family for a lont time and it's nice to see a recent post (year wise that is). I have Sophie's obituary and also an article where she and Gott Jr.(it mentions his civil war service) had a reunion in Lowell, MA after having not seen each other for 50 years. I have been to the National Archives and pulled the civil war record for Gott Jr. I have a lot of mysteries I am still working on but I am making progress. My tree is public in ancestry under Murphy Brown family tree. I have a separate tree for David "Cap" Latlip, because I know his parents were Joseph and Lucy (Giroux) but I can't quite figure out where Joseph fits in. Someone said that David "Cap" was civil war Gott's son, but that is incorrect. Unless there is yet another Gott Latlip in Waterville, besides Gott Sr. and Gott Jr. I don't think so. I have lots of documentation to go along with what I've found. I have a lot of great articles about the Latlip family circus, lots of obituaries for that family as well. Still trying to figure out how they fit into my tree though. As I've researched my Latlips, I've found some great stuff on David and family, pics and all. Love to compare notes. Please check out my tree.

Hi, I am a foster sister and Cousin too Frank Latlip or (bud).I recently heard that his wife had died and that my cousin Bobby has his number! My recent search on him show's he is in Auburn,again. He was born in fl. but has lived in California. When he was younger he lived in Maine and Fl. He never has had any Bladder problem's except that he drank. He has shown In his past, To maybe have displayed sign's of bipolor or manic dreppretion. I thought his daughter's name was Stephanie, but yeah I guess Stacey could have been it. You were in Auburn, Maine. Sorry to know that about yourself. Will help with question's if you would like!

The Latlip,or variation's are all the same family! Edward George Latlippe the first, was the father of Arthur Latlippe. His son was a choir boy an Catholic. Joesph Latlippe, Then my Father Edward George Latlippe Sr. an then my brother also Edward George Latlippe Jr. I remember visting my Grandparent's at about the age of four Living in Wintrop, Me. This may help!
