My great grandfather was George Mitchell Lary b. 11-1-1869, d. 8-31-1932 and married Nancy Beulah Anderson. I know his father was James Lary (possible Leary) and he married Arraine Etheridge but I have no dates. I have nothing further back and have been looking for years. If you have any info I sure would appreciate if you could help me fill in the gaps of my family. You can email me at jlary68@aol.com, Thank you for your help.

Re: Josephine Larry (Lary?)

I have a relative Josephine Birch who married a Lary - all we know about the spouse and marriage is the last name. Josephine was born June 1876 in the Toledo, Lucas County, Ohio area so she would have been about 36 years old in 1909. HOWEVER, my Josephine lived to 1938 and is buried in Toledo. So ... if Lary was a married name instead of a maiden name AND the "died in 1909 giving birth" info is not solid, it could be a fit. Long shot.

I'm looking for the parents of Sarah Lary (Leary), who was born in Maine abt 1773 and who married Benjamin Cleaves sometime before the birth of their daughter Esther in 22 Feb 1800. I've been looking at all the Lary's near Kennebunkport, Maine, and just can't make the link. I found at least one branch in Rockingham Co., New Hampshire, on the border with Maine, but none of them show a Sarah. Can anyone help?

Yes, I did get a copy of the book, thanks to the generosity of an online friend and fellow Lary descendant. I don't know where he got the book from originally. The book does a good job of sketching the line of one of the Daniel Larys of NH. It does not have any of the early history of the family in America. The Lary line is complicated, and not much researched. I have done some work, but my line is not the one in the book. If you have specific questions which you think I can answer from the book, contact me directly -- franzm@flash.net

My records show Mary Ann Lary, daughter of Dearborn Lary, married to Isaac Merrill. He was a farmer, and they settled in or near Dover Foxcroft, Maine.

The John Lary, living as an old man in Shelburne in 1830, was almost certainly a brother of Joseph Lary. Joseph died in 1815. They were among the first settlers of Wolfeboro, NH in the 1760s and apparently both moved north. No Larys remained in Wolfeboro even though they helped settle the place. Curious.

In 1830 there is a John Lary in the 70 to 80 yrs old bracket. Would this fit the time frame for Joseph's father?

I am descended from Dearborn Lary of Shelburne, NH. His father was Joseph Lary. Does anyone know who were the parents of Joseph Lary? I have a lot of info on the early Larys who came to Mass. in the 1600's. But I cannot connect the children of the immigrant Cornelius with the various families who appear in the late 1700's. Help appreciated.

Re: Lary Family info---Ferna Lary

Just to let those of you who are wanting to reply to this thread, Carlton Lary (my cousin) who made this post passed away last year (Oct. 2004). He finally found all the answers to his questions.

We were both grandchildren of Albert Ezra LARY, son of Jeremiah Eli LARY, son of Malinda and Levy LARY. Still trying to make the LARY connections in GA to the LARY's in NC and PA. Send any correspondence or suggestions to my new email address please: fernalea@yahoo.com

Lary's in TX, AL, GA, NC

Seeking more info on Jeremiah Eli Lary, born 1823 in Jones Co., GA, or his brother John J. Lary, born abt. 1820 in Jones Co., GA. Or their parents, Levy Lary and Malinda (maiden name unknown) who married Oliver Morton, Sr. in Jones Co. after the death of Levy Lary.

I have found records of a possible relationship of Levy to Darby Lary but nothing solid. Any help appreciated! I do have tons of information on Jeremiah Eli Lary from Jones CO. GA to his death in TX, burial, decendants, etc. Willing to share.

Over the years I have made many posts on this lineage with my old AOL address. My new address is fernalea@yahoo.com
Thanks!

I'm wondering if you can tell me what source you have that Levi Lary is a brother to these Lary's? Have you found any other information on Levi/Levy? I'm still running into brick walls, and now am wondering if there is a Levy Sr. and a Levi Jr. ? I don't have much information on my Levy who married Malinda who later married Oliver Morton, Sr. other than the Court of Ordinary records for Jeremiah Eli Lary and John J. Lary, stating that Levy had died, and a land lottery he won. But I still haven't found anything that directly connects him to Darby. Any information you can share? Would certainly LOVE someone to help me get through this wall! :)

William Lary was the brother of my great grandfather John Lary(named after his father) who married Emma Moon. I've traced this side of the family to Hancock County Ga in 1817. I believe from my research that the Lary's were from Ireland. There is a John Lary that came over from Ireland who lived with a physicians family for a while. I do know that John Lary in Hancock county won some land from the Georgia Land Lottery and ended up donating it to the American Indian war. From Georgia they traveled to Alabama and then to Louisiana where I was born. Need some other info let me know my email is kay1313@tds.net.
Kay Lary Higgins
Mattie Lary Married C. H. Mozley 14 MAY 1895, Hill Co., Texas

I am looking for info on this C. H. Mozley, specifically. I have a Charlene Wesley Mozley who died in 1934. She married Robert Wilber Becker and had one child, Montie Laverne Becker, who was named in my gggreat uncle Zack's will. In Charlene's obit, her mother is given and her name is Mattie Sevier. Charlene was born in Ellis Co., TX, so this C. H. and Mattie are in the right area at the right time to be the parents of Charlene, but I have nothing to prove this.

I believe that Charles Mozley, son of Miles "Pike" Mozley and Mary Ann "Missouri" Smith, is the father of Charlene. I also believe that he died between 1926-1929 in Winnsboro, Wood Co., TX. I also believe that his widow, Mattie remarried shortly after his death, to a Sevier. Does anyone know anything to prove that Mattie Lary and C. H. Mozley are these people?

Thank you

Mona Herrin
