Hey! My father was born in New Braunfels, as well as my Tio's and Tia's. My grandfather's name was Jose Antonio Lara he was born in Mexico, his wife Jova or Jovita Castillo died after giving birth to a child; and she is buried in Texas. My father always mentioned the Guadalupe River, and he went back there and apparently the cemetery my grandmother is buried at is overgrown by brush. My grandfather Jose moved to Florida with his kids after my grandmother died. However, he always said he had brothers and sisters who were in Texas, in and around New Braunfels before moving to Florida. I only know that my grandfather had given my aunt (newborn at the time) to his compadres to raise because he could not take care of her, and I think her name was also Jova; my father thought that she died after a few months because my aunt got sick. My dad's name is Geronimo Larra, My Tio's are Martin C. Lara, Luis Lara, Antonio Lara, My Aunt's are Maria Lara, and Dolores Larra. Yes, my dad's last name and Tia Lola's last name have 2 r's. If you think you can help me, please email me at j-mesmom@hotmail.com My father had wanted me to do this family tree before he passed but I was not able to complete it, its been 5 years since he passed and I am wanting to get further than what I have already. I also have a picture of my grandmother in her casket, and my dad and his siblings surrounding the casket.
