As you see I'm Marko (22.y. old) and I'm from Zupa dubrovacka (Dubrovnik, Croatia). It's place were probably all Lapacina originating from. There was one family that lived in Zaton (near Dubrovnik) some centuries ago, and had no connections with family in Zupa, but they extinct. So I say "probably" all Lapacina in the world are originally from Zupa.
So, your grandfather or great-grandfather... went in the world from Zupa or Broce (Peljesac).
Most probably from Broce because family members in Zupa last name Lapacina replaced with Miloslavic. So in Broce is the onlyest family that kept old last name of the clan.
I have ENTIRE Miloslavic (and Lapacina) family tree until First World War.
All starts around 1525.y. when was born Miloslav (Miljko).
From his name over the years and century’s became the last
name Miloslavic. First last name of the clan was Lapacina and Miloslavic
was nickname. In 17 century Miloslavic became a real last name.
In year 1743. Ivan (born ~1710) moves from Zupa to Broce (Peljesac) on his wife’s land. In that time in family members in Zupa last name Miloslavic starts to appear. But Ivan and his descendants continued to use old last name, Lapacina.
Lapacine was a small village in Zupa where they were living and therefore last name was
(and is) Lapacina. But it is not sure who get name after whom.
I will appreciate if you contact me and sand some informations, for the beginning, who was the man (date and year of birth) who went there from Croatia (grandfather or great-....) And I'll check in family tree.
In further corresponding you can send informations about your family members. This informations will help me to fill up my family archive and if you want, to build your part of the family tree.
I open
www.miloslavic.com a month ago, it’s not finished jet, but you can see my part of the family tree. You can see that last name was Lapacina.
