Barbara Lanphear Hawk, age 81, of Westerville, Ohio, died January 21, 2014 at Kobacker House, (Hospice) Columbus, Ohio after a 6-year battle with cancer. (Franklin County)

She was born on October 1, 1932 in Cleveland, OHIO.

Barb is preceded in death by her parents Wesley Hinsdale Lanphear and Pearl "Polly" Lanphear.

She is survived by her sister, Nancy (Lanphear) Appunn; former husband, Thomas J. Hawk, M.D.; and five children, David Hawk, Tom (Patti) Hawk, Bill (Lisa) Hawk, Amy Hawk and Peter (Makeda) Hawk; grandchildren, Hayley, Brandon, Jordan, Jasmine, Luke, Nick and Robbie.

A 1951 graduate of Cleveland Heights High School and a graduate of Ohio University, taught school in Cleveland and Upper Arlington, Ohio.
Barb will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 30, 2014 at New Albany Presbyterian Church, 5220 Johnstown Rd., New Albany, OHIO.
Family will receive friends immediately following the service.
Private interment will take place at Crown Hill Cemetery, Twinsburg, OHIO. (Summit County)
