My dad Robert Lankford was raised in Kilgore, Texas by his half brother William "Arthur" Pearce & his wife Boyce. Arthur & Boyce had one daughter Suzanne in 1940. He was born in McAlester, Ok, living with his brother in Kilgore after his parents died in 1928 & 1933. Robert Lankford was tall, thin, dark, and handsome, I was told he was about half Indian, I was always told Apache but later told Choctaw. It has been rumored that he was married for a short time before he married my Mother Edith Gossien when he was only about 19 years old. Robert's mother Pearl Fuller died 1/28/1928 was a red headed woman, the widow of John Pearce. His father Bobby Lankford was a widow when he married Pearl in 1919 in McAlester, Ok. know other information on him, pictures showed him to be rather dark completed. Pearl & her first husband Pearce had several children, Pearl & Bobby Lankford had 3 children; Odessa, Daisey, & Robert. Odessa & Daisy also known as Shirley were adopted by Kimbrells after their parents death. Does anyone know of this family?
