Mildred Langdon Surber Lindsay, 88, Spencer, formerly of Indianapolis, died Jan. 3. Mrs. Lindsay was born on the Old Cooksey Place in Owen County. She worked for Sears Roebuck & Co., retiring in 1974. Also, worked at Curtis Wright factory during WWII. Mrs. Lindsay was a 50 year member and past matron of Indianapolis Chapter Order of the Eastern Star 393 and was a Sunday school teacher. Services: 1 p.m. Jan. 8 in West, Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home, Spencer, with calling from 5 to 8 p.m. Jan. 7 and from 8:30 a.m. Jan. 8. Burial: Cloverdale (Ind.) Cemetery. She was the widow of Frank M. Surber. Survivors: daughter and son-in-law Mary Merriline Surber and Bob Hale, Indianapolis; son and daughter-in-law Frank and Diana Surber, Spencer; sister Mary K. Milam, Plainfield; sister and brother-in-law Lola M. Langdon and John Starnes, Cartersburg; sister-in-law Josephine Langdon, Indianapolis; brothers and sisters-in-law Cecil J. and Georgia Langdon, Cartersburg, brother John Levi Langdon, Waukegan, Ill., Hubert and Lois Langdon, Indianapolis, Frankie and Mary Langdon, Madisonville, Ky.; grandchildren Rosetta Roberts, Christina Nickerson, Jeffery Surber, Frank B. Surber, Dawn Christel Miller, Caroline M. Hale, Anita M. Garing; 10 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
