For several years I have been hunting for the person who possesses the family Bible of Isaiah and Thirza Phelps Landers. In the 1970/80 era it was in the possession of Mrs John Gordon Woods, and I learned she passed away in 1990. The Bible found its way through descendants of Isaiah by way of Isiaah Jr, his daughter Augusta who married a Daniels, a female Daniels who married into the Wood family, and finally to Mrs Dorotha More Wood (wife of John Gordon). I know she had 2 sons and 1 dau; one of those sons has passed away, but I believe his wife is still alive. I can't identify the son and dau I believe to be alive. Most of the foregoing information I derived from correspondence between my mother and Charles Decker, a genealogist from Afton NY Isaiah and Thirza are my 4th ggp; I descend from their son Philander who married Polly Farnsworth, their son Marcellus, his dau Ella who married William Elijah Hyde. Their son Arthur William Hyde is my grandfather, the last of the family to live in Afton. My wish in finding the Bible would be to obtain copies of the family pages of births, marriages and deaths. I am sure I have all the information written on those pages, but having copies of documents is very important to my research. I'm hoping against hope someone in Ancestry land might be able to put me in touch with that special person who possesses that Bible!
