MANSFIELD: Mary Kovacs, 82, of Mansfield, Ohio passed away on June 10, 1930 surrounded by her children.
She was born on October 19, 1930 in Balassagyarmat, Hungary to Elemer and Ilona Lakatos immigrating to the United States in 1956.
She was an exceptional seamstress, gardener and cook and took great pride in her accomplishments.
Her vibrant, one of a kind personality will be greatly missed by her family and many friends as will the Hungarian Christmas cookies and meals that she bestowed on the fortunate few.
She was the beloved mother of Klara (Mark) and Maria (David) and loving Grandmother of Mandy, Nathan, Nick, Rikki, Caitlin, Hannah, Taylor and Courtney and Great Grandmother of Brianna, Jaxson and Gabriel.
She is also survived by nieces and nephews in the United States and Hungary
Preceded in death by her husband Lajos and son Attila and survived by her brother Elemer.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond Street, Mansfield, Ohio conducted by Father Tom McQuillen.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service, from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m., at the funeral home on Wednesday.
