I am looking for evidence of Peter Laird b. Dec. 6, 1807 in Vermont. In Canadian census information, it is stated Peter was born in Vermont. It also stated his father was from Scotland and his mother was from the US. Peter moved to Canada and settled in the Norval, Ontario region (around 1831) where many previous Scottish Vermont settlers also moved to.
There is another Peter Laird from Barnet, Vermont b. 1782. I believe this Peter is the son of Robert Laird from Scotland.
Peter Laird married Catherine Pate (b. 1799) were married February 5, 1815.

The dates of this marriage and the age of Catherine don't support this being the parents of Peter Laird b. 1807.
any help to unravel the mystery of the parents of Peter Laird b. 1807 would be greatly appreciated!
