my branch of the Lahaye family originate from Belguim and a coat of Arms were granted to the DeLaHaye family in the 10th Century. Count Sebastian Delahaye is as far back as I have- he owned a farmhouse & a vineyard but this was lost when the English & French fought the Battle of Waterloo, the battle was on his land-it seems he was a bit of a gambler & eventually sold his title as he had lost the vineyard and land. He then dropped the DE from the name, his son Frederic Isidore Lahaye 1841-1916 married Marguerite AMANN in 1860 & moved to Paris & eventually to England. Frederic is my great great grand father. He fathered at least 5 children with his first wife & then another 9 by his second-there were more born but they died in infancy. His son Lawerence George Charles 28.3.1891-? moved to Glasgow in Scotland & his son, George St Augustus Lahaye was born 13Dec1915-so I must have a lot of relatives out there? anybody recorgnise this lineage??
