I never realized there were so many with the surname of Lafayette. I, too, am a Lafayette, from Texas but relatives from Fouke, Arkansas and Shreveport. I believe my great great grandfather was born in Alabama. I am at a brick wall with Elias Lafayette...or atleast that is the name I have. It may have been Lige or Elijah. I'm stooped! My father's name is Charles Lafayette (1942, Shreveport).
