Does anyone happen to be researching Jordan Benjamin Ladd (1874-1951)? Jordan - pronounced "jur-din" - is my second great-grandfather, and he happens to be my brick wall.

Family tales say that Jordan's father was a LADD, though unknown. He was raised by his aunt, Mary BARRETT, who was listed as his mother on his death certificate. According to my grandmother, he was born in Highland County, Ohio, and died in Springfield, Clark, Ohio. There has been some mention of a Mary DAVIS as well.

His obituary in the Hillsboro Press-Gazette published on 8 May 1951 states that he was a resident of Rainsboro, Highland, Ohio for most of his life.

Jordan is buried in Hardin's Creek Cemetery, Bridges, Highland, Ohio with his immediate family. However, there is a grave marked Martha K. DAVIS directly next to his headstone. There are quite a few LADD, BARRETT, and DAVIS graves in the cemetery as well.

I am unable to find Jordan on any census record as a minor. The earliest document I have located is his marriage license to Carrie A. DODDS in Clinton County, Ohio on 8 March 1894. He next appears in the 1900 US Federal Census as a farmer in Fairfield, Highland, Ohio.

I would love to connect with anyone who may hold a key to this lock!
