SHAMOKIN — Anna Yucha, 89, formerly of 831 E. Clay St., Shamokin, PA. and of Box 959, Paxinos RR1, where she lived with her daughter, died Saturday, Aug. 4, in Shamokin Area Community Hospital. She had been hospitalized since early Friday morning.
Mrs. Yucha was a patient at Mountain View Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for the past two years.
Born in Shamokin on Dec. 8, 1917, she was a daughter of the late John and Veronica (Mikielska) Lada.
She attended St. Stanislaus School and Pulaski Junior High School.
On May 26, 1937, in St. Stanislaus Church, Shamokin, she was married to Anthony Yucha, who died April 20, 1977.
She was a former member of St. Stanislaus Church, now Mother Cabrini Church
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Anthony Jr. and Kathy Yucha of Souderton; a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Charles Carpenter of Paxinos; two grandchildren, Steven Carpenter of Sunbury and Christopher Carpenter of Coal Township; eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Clara Henniger of California, and a brother and sister-in-law, Benjamin and Cathy Lada of Ohio.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Eleanor Lada of Shamokin, on July 26, 2004.
YUCHA — Anna Yucha, formerly of 831 E. Clay St., Shamokin, and of Box 959, Paxinos RR 1. Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family at Leonard J. Lucas Funeral Home Ltd., 120 S. Market St., Shamokin, Leonard J. Lucas, supervisor.
Burial will be in All Saints Cemetery, Bear Gap.
There will be a private family viewing.
