Hello. I have paperwork that state my great-grandparents were from Hradek, then Austria-Hungary. He was Milhaly Laczko, she was Zuzsanna Kovacs. We knew then to be Czech. They came yo America 1902-1907. I have trouble looking up the current location of Hradek because I don't know what area/district/province they came from then, or where it would be today. Do you have any helpful information about looking up,this town? Thank you.

The baptism record is from the USA - St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church in Kingston, Pennsylvania.

John and Susanna were also married in that church on June 3, 1888. Their marriage record provides the following:

Joannes Laczko of Ujvaros, Abauj County, Hungary (now Czechoslovakia - in 1888), 25 years old

Susanna Michlik of Valkoch, Saris County, Hungary (now Czechoslovakia - in 1888), 22 years old

My grandmother's baptism record is the source of the Ujvaros and Valkoch villages. She was Greek Catholic.

Hi Daisy,

I hope you are still on Rootsweb. My great-grandparents were from Austria-Hungary. The information I have from their marriage certificate (3 June 1888 in the US) is as follows:

Joannes (John) Anderanin (Laczko or Lasco) was from Vivarasha, Abauj County. He was born about 1863. His father was named Joannes.

Suzanna Michlik was from Shariskay, Siartovetz (Giratovetz?) County. She was born about 1866. Her father was named Georgius.

Our family stories say John was born in Ujvaros, Abauj County and he had a brother George. Suzanna was born in Valkoch, Saris County.

That is all I know of the family in Austria/Hungary. They settled in Pennsylvania and had 8 children (Susan, John, Mary, Helen, Michael, George, Julia and Stephen).

Do you know of this family? Any help would be appreciated.

Hello, My Great, Great, Great Grandmother was Zsuzsanna Laczko. She lived in Vamosujfalu, Hungary. That is in Zemplen County. She had a child, Eszter Laczko Toth. Do you think you are related to these folks?

I'm looking for info on Florence Marie. Florence Marie would have been my Great Aunt. I cannot find any info out there for her. I remember my grandmother telling me she died young of an illness. I do know she had 3 sisters, Eleanore, Emily and Mariann. Her sister Emily Rose Laco Lingenfelter was my grandmother and I remember Eleanore and Mariann from my childhood. Any info is greatly appreciated and I will help you with any additional info I can. =)

I have found a Laczko in my family tree, also from Abauj. My GGGgrandmother's name was Julia Laczko, and she married someone with the last name Gesztely. They had a daughter Julianna in about 1868 in Gibart, and Julianna married Andras Bai, and emigrated to the US. I don't have any additional info yet, but I am going to try to obtain Julianna Gesztely's birth certificate, which may have more info about her parents.

I have a relative that was a Laczko that came to Cambria County, Pennsylvania also. Her name was Terez Laczko who married a Vojtko. She had a sister named Maria. Their father's first name was Joseph. If you could help in any way, I would appreciate it.

I just found one of the entry dates of Pal Laczko- he is listed coming into the USA on Dec 29,1908. He also listed previous trips as 1904. So far, he traveled alone-

I'm looking for relatives on my maternal grandmother's side. My G Grandma was Antonia CHORNEYKO who married John DZIKOWSKI. Nellie CHORNEYKO was my G grandmother's sister. Nellie married Anton LASKO and they had children. Two of the children were Steve and Wasyl. Wasyl worked somewhere with the police. They all lived in the Benito-Cowan Manitoba area until Nellie and her children moved to British Columbia.

I'm looking for my Laczko ancestors. My grandfather was John W. Laczko 1901 - 1969 and he lived in Fairport Harbor, Ohio. His father was Andras (Andrew) and his mother was Elizabeth Lucas. Right now I do not have any birth or death dates on my great grandparents, but I do know they were born around 1860 - 1875. The also came to America when they were children. Any help would be appreciated.
