Both my grandfather (born 1857 married in
25 October 1881 to Margaret Melvina Gervais)and my great grandfather (married 23 August 1853 to Hedwidge Forest) were Joseph Langlois dit La Chapelles who were born near Montreal, Canada and came to US in 1880s and then lived in Rock Creek (Pine County) Minnesota. The son later lived in Littlefork, Minnesota. Both trace back to Honore Langlois dit La Chapelle of 1660's Montreal. I have the marriage record chain down to them. Are there any kin out there? - Ted

I have a Elizabeth ( Elise ) Brodeur married to a Adolphe Langlois dit Lachapelle on 24 Feb 1879 in Milton, Quebec. I have a son listed as Joseph Langlois who married a Emma Louise Brodeur 8 Aug 1905 in St Dominique, Bagot, Quebec. Maybe some of the children took the Langlois name and some the Lachapelle. My family tree descended from another son of Honore - Jean LaChapelle (Langlois dit LaChapelle) - a brother to Andre. Jean married Jeanne Phelippeau at Varennes QC on 4 November 1698 according to the Genealogical Society in Quebec.
