Thank you 1st for responding. I am probably on the wrong road but...My grandmother on fathers side who I have one letter from was Carmen (married Martyn, nes Esteva y Villabrille) So in seaching my records and ships lists (ellis and anc.com lds sites) to find her Mother ....Eudosia who married Amador Esteva y Mestre in Cuba and a related cousins notes, I am told she was from a french official in Cuba and when she married Amador they had to get a special dispensation for the marriage. in about 1870. I have checked some other lists one looking up just the first name Amador and found them and their children coming and going (esteva) . Then there was one amador gartin so I checked the passenger list and it was not him but....there is a woman and her two daughters one the right age an d of course the spellings are crazy and close to marriage age and 1851 birthday ......if this is them then the fathers name begins with H. as it is madame h. s. dumabrille but the daughters one is E and she is 19......Sometimes whoever reads and does the ancestry misreads and types names wrong. I was hoping maybe originally it came from la brueyere....So sorry if this is wrong but I have to take the chance. It could be castilian spanish but I am 62 and want to know my roots for myself and to leave for the family. I lived with my Hostetter grandmother and met my father once before he died. I know all about my mothers side but the mystery is eudosia ....Thank you for reading and again I appologize if I am bothering you. warm regards , Keith
