COLUMBIANA, OH – Dorothea C. Kyser, 86, passed away at Salem Regional Medical Center early Tuesday morning, Nov. 11, 2914 surrounded by her loving family.

Dorothea was born Oct. 20, 1928, in Girard, Ohio, (Trumbull County) a daughter of Melvin A. and Elisabeth T. (Hoffmeister) Culp.
She was a 1946 graduate of North Lima High School.

On Feb. 11, 1950, she married Walter Kyser at the Jerusalem Lutheran Church in a double wedding ceremony with her sister, Ruth, and Clarence Rummel.
Married for 64 years, they raised their children in the Columbiana, Ohio area.

Together with Walter, she enjoyed camping and visiting national parks with the family.

Dorothea was a voracious reader, researching and journaling their many trips together.

She leaves to cherish her precious memory, her husband, Walter; three daughters, Barbara (Alan) Williamson of Oak Island, N.C., Mary Alice (James) Wagner of Salem, Ohio and Elisabeth (Van) Kridler of Leetonia, OH; grandchildren Leslie Williamson (David) Humes of Arlington, Va., Shawn (Deirdre) Williamson of Wilmington, N.C., Alicia Mason (Brian) Hill of Youngstown, Sarah (Brian) Yorlano of Salem and Katelyn and Kelsey Kridler of Leetonia, OH; and great-grandchildren Austin and Evan Humes, Amelia Williamson, Tyler and Kara Haskin, Layla Hill, and Alexandria, Adrianna, Vincent, and Victor Yorlano.

Dorothea also will be missed by her siblings, Ruth Rummel, Barbara (Walter) Hartsock, David (Lee) Culp, Leah (Jack) Martin, Rachel (Herman) Miller, and Jonathan (Cari) Culp. Dorothea was preceded in death by her parents; by a son, Walter Theodore Kyser, who passed away in 1971; two brothers, Melvin (Mary Ellen) and Daniel Culp; and a brother-in-law, Clarence Rummel.

Funeral services will be Saturday, Nov. 15, at 3:30 p.m. at the Good Hope Lutheran Church, 12030 Market St. in North Lima,OH.
The family will receive friends on Friday, Nov. 14, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Seederly-Mong and Beck Funeral Home, 154 S. Elm St. in Columbiana, and also an hour prior to the service, from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m., at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests material contributions may be made in Dorothea’s memory to the Window Fund at the Good Hope Lutheran Church; Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market St., Youngstown, OH 44512
